Attorney Rick Kornis has represented individuals that have legal issues involving consumer law since 1997. He has also served as both a Magistrate and  Municipal Judge. Prior to his entry into the legal profession, Rick Kornis was a Financial Consultant and Adviser for several enterprises in Moscow, Russia, whereby he was involved with the country's first investment company. He has represented clients  in the following judicial forums: (1) United States Tax Court; (2) United States District Court; and (3) United States Bankruptcy Court. Rick Kornis received his Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, majoring in Economics.  He received his Juris Doctor from the Birmingham School of Law.  Additionally he has received a LL.M. , Summa Cum Laude, in International Taxation and Finance from Thomas Jefferson School of Law, San Diego, Ca.  Currently, Rick Kornis is a  S.J.D.  Scientiae Juridicae Doctor  (Phd) candidate, with research focus on Debt Buyers and the abuses regarding collection industry's practices that have a detrimental effect upon a consumer's credit file-scores.  Rick Kornis also provides continuing education courses for real estate professionals in Alabama.

In April 2011 Mr. Kornis will publish a credit repair and IRS tax offer and compromise "self-help" manuals, which will include all steps required to resolve credit reporting disputes, and step by step instructions for preparing an IRS tax offer and compromise, from an attorney's perspective.  The manual is will save countless hours of effort for both the individual consumer and the consumer's  attorney. 


Attorney Steven C.R.  Brown, has represented individuals that have legal issues involving consumer law since 1988.  He received his LL.M. in Taxation from New York University School of Law in 1988. He earned his Juris Doctor from Cumberland School of Law, graduating Cum Laude, in 1987.  Steven Brown also earned a Master of Tax Accounting from the University of Alabama in 1981, in addition to  a MBA from Auburn University in 1979. He has represented clients in all aspects of tax disputes, before every level of the Internal Revenue Service; i.e., Appeals, Collections, Criminal Investigation Division, Examinations, Special Procedures, and District Counsel. He has extensive experience in preparing Offer and Compromise, Protests, and Requests for Subordination of Lien. 

He has represented clients with tax problems, in the following judicial forums: (1) United States Tax Court; (2) United States District Court; and (3) United States Bankruptcy Court. Steven Brown has published articles in several accounting and tax publications; such as, National Public Accountant, The Tax Adviser, Index to Federal Tax Articles, Journal of Accountancy, Management Accounting, and  The Banking Journal. He has earned several awards for contributions to the field of Accountancy; such as, the John Pugsley award and the John L. Rhoades award.    Steve Brown was both Instructor and Professor of Accounting, Tax, Real Estate, and Finance, at Samford University, University of Alabama-Birmingham, and Auburn University.
